The romance gets turned up in Rebel Angels, with Kartik from A Great and Terrible Beauty continuing to be a presence in Gemma's life and the introduction of Simon Middleton, the son of a viscount. Nevertheless, when I found an audiobook edition of this third novel in the Gemma Doyle trilogy, I decided not to wait until I had read A Great and Terrible Beauty and The Rebel Angels. Here's a dilemma: If you knew how much a book series might deteriorate by its final title, would you read all the way through to the bitter end? Although, I read the first two chapters-I am savoring it, because I have to wait so long for the next one.
